Taken on the Brooklyn Bridge sometime in February —
I really love this shot because of the small story I noticed behind it. This photo was taken during a subway party I went on in Brooklyn. Everyone was instructed to meet at the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge at 11:59pm. This couple seemed like they were having some sort of small conflict along the way.
I feel as if the caustic colors within this shot reflect the nature of most small disagreements within a relationship. Our words are usually too harsh and we seem to make a problem solvable or unsolvable —and sometimes we don’t want to make any room for compromise. I feel like that’s all visualized in this photo with the sharp contrast between the lights of the bridge, the orange of the roadway bellow, and the black of the sky.
Or maybe those were just what my arguments were like… Anyways, I really enjoyed taking these photos (on my new Nikon d40x) and I would like to share more of them soon.
